How To Transfer Data From One Xbox 360 Hard DriveTo Another
Steve P Lobston | March 11, 2010 | 2:39 am | Hardware | No comments

This article explains the way to transfer the hard drive for xbox 360 using the Drive Transfer Kit to transfer all content from one hard drive to another

You will need :

An Xbox 360 console

Two Xbox 360 hard drives

Data transfer cable (included with the Xbox 360 Hard Drive Transfer Kit)

This could be included when you buy the Xbox 360 Hard Drive

Data transfer software (included with the Xbox 360 Hard Drive Transfer Kit)

The Xbox 360 Hard Drive Transfer Kit transfers all content to another hard drive. Read the users guide which you get with the Xbox 360 Hard Drive Transfer Kit.

It is possible to transfer all content from one Xbox 360 hard drive (this is called the “source”) to another Xbox 360 hard drive (this is known as the “destination”). The data from the source hard drive overwrites the data on the destination hard drive.

It goes without saying data can only be moved to another hard drive so long as the destination hard drive is the same size or bigger than the source hard drive

When the transfer is finished, the content on the destination hard drive will be replaced with the content from the source hard drive. This content contains your saved games and Xbox LIVE downloads. After the transfer is finished, the content on the source hard disk is erased.

Movie rentals

Films you have rented on the source hard drive will not be accessible after the transfer. Ensure that you watch all Xbox LIVE Marketplace movie rentals before you use the Hard Drive Transfer Kit.

Using the Hard Drive Transfer Kit

Warning with any transfer, there is a small risk that some or your entire content can be lost during the transfer.

Only one hard drive can be connected to your Xbox 360 console at a time. The transfer cable cannot be used to connect multiple hard drives to your console at the same time.

To transfer all content from one hard drive to another

Turn off your Xbox 360 console with your current hard drive (the “source” drive) attached.

Disconnect all accessories from the console.

Switch on the console. Connect a controller and switch it on. You need to use a controller during the content transfer.

Connect the transfer cable to the hard drive that you are moving content to (the “destination” hard drive).

Important The transfer cable connects to the destination hard drive in only one orientation. Do not force the connector on.

Connect the transfer cable to the destination hard drive in the orientation shown below.

Plug the other end of the transfer cable into the USB port on the back of your Xbox 360 console.

Important Do not plug the transfer cable into a USB port on the front of your Xbox 360 console.

Load the Xbox 360 Hard Drive Transfer Disc (included with the transfer kit) into your Xbox 360 console. Instructions will appear on the screen

The transfer process can take more than 60 minutes, depending on the amount of content on the source hard drive.

The Xbox Dashboard is not available during the content transfer.

If the transfer is interrupted for any reason, your content will stay on the source hard drive. You can restart the transfer process at any time until the process is complete.

To remove your Xbox 360 hard drive

1.Turn off your Xbox 360 console.

2.Locate the hard drive on the top of your console (or on the left side, depending on how your console is positioned).

3.Press the release button on the hard drive.

4.Lift the hard drive away from the console.

To attach your hard drive

1.Turn off your Xbox 360 console.

2.Position the back of the hard drive against the back of the hard drive bay.

3.Push the front end of the hard drive down until it clicks in place.

Note If your console did not previously have a hard drive, you will need to remove the hard drive bay cover before attaching a hard drive.

Purchased this computer a few weeks ago for my son who is heading to college and we have been very happy with it. Sleek, responsive, and able to handle gaming and media applications with the well-above-average video card, memory, display and processor combination. All for under $1000.00? Impressive. A fingerprint magnet, which bothers some, but is not a big deal to me. Battery life is average compared to the other laptops I have owned, but acceptable, and I am confident, but admittedly have not looked, that an aftermarket upgrade at battery is available. I have seen complaints that it runs hot, but have not experienced that, at least not hotter than any other laptop with a dedicated video card running during intensive applications and certainly not uncomfortably so. The fan is partially blocked by the monitor, but does its job, and for long sessions of gaming I would recommend a secondary cooling device for any laptop. I have also seen at least one review indicate that the video card was not good for gaming, but other independent reviews of the specific card and pc configuration, and my own experiences, refute that, this pc was built with demanding gaming in mind, while not sacrificing portability or versatility.

I have only one beef with the purchase. Amazon no longer price guarantees its products. This machine dropped in price $35.00 shortly after I purchased it (within a week). I still had it, unopened, and contacted Amazon about a price credit, and was basically told to pound sand. The most frustrating thing about that was I could have simply returned it for a full refund under the 30 day return policy for unopened computers, and bought another one at the new price, discounting my price savings by the 15 dollars or so in return shipping costs (I do not think the return policy covers that), and when I pointed that out to Amazon, I was invited to go ahead and do that. To me, it appeared Amazon was effectively banking on the fact that I would not go through such hassle for such a “small” savings. And they were correct, but only because I did not want to be empty handed for my son’s 18th birthday. So they won my business with a good price on a great machine, but lost my respect as a company for such poor customer service. I make many internet purchases, and absent a serious reason to do so, will not be shopping at Amazon in the future.

EDIT REVIEW – after I wrote this it got me worked up all over again so I contacted Amazon a second time and low and behold I was given a 35 dollar credit! While they deserved the smack on the nose with a rolled up paper they got for how I was treated the first time, they likewise deserve a treat and an attaboy for eventually doing the right thing. Amazon you have won back my business.

Who Operates the UK Lottery?
Tom Martens | March 8, 2010 | 10:47 am | Uncategorized | No comments

Have you ever wondered who owns the UK lottery? With so much money going into such a business it’s hard to imagine that the owners are not extraordinarily rich. The truth is that the UK lottery is own be a variety of stockholders, meaning that the greater profits are divided between several different members, usually the ones who helped fund the company.

The UK lottery is currently in control by a company called Camelot. They oversee all of the different promotions and payouts and insure that everything is running smoothly. Camelot’s reign started back in 2001 when they were awarded the bid for the franchise. This bid takes place every eight years, and the UK lottery ownership is given to the company chosen by The National Lottery Commission.

The National Lottery Commission is not in charge of any of the operations of Camelot, nor does it deal out any of the winnings. This commission was established so players could have fair treatment. It is not run by the government and has a staff of about 50 people. The headquarters is in Watford, although many staff members are located right in London.

In order to facilitate the altering of the franchise to a new owner, the National Lottery Commission is organized into five directors in departments like Resources, Licensing, the Project Team, Compliance, Performance, and Communications. The members of the department are employed by the secretary of State for media, culture, and sport. They also employ the Chief Executive, which decides regarding issues about the lottery and franchise.

The Commission also looks after grievances that weren?t suitably handled by the company who has the UK lottery franchise. They confirm that no one below age participates in the game, and that players are not greatly spending on this. The Commission also supervises several things undertaken by Camelot, however they don?t interfere much into the coordination or operation of the game. The commission is also responsible to ensure that the fund is allocated correctly.

Wealth collected from the lottery is divided between the award and diverse good causes. A part of the fund directly goes to the UK government, the people who sell lottery, suppliers of lottery cards or tickets. A part of it also goes as Camelot?s profit. Parliament has set that 28p per pound, should go for some welfare cause. Many people see this as a type of stealth tax; however this goes to maintain the Big Lottery money. A part of the fund raised by Dream Number lottery is kept for the Olympics and Paralympics of 2012.

As per, the rules established by the National Lottery Commission, the players have to be above the age of 16 years. Camelot takes part in both methods ? the scratch cards and the number match games, however the Lotto is known to be the most renowned. The players playing the ?pick-the-number games? can typically play on the Wednesdays or Saturdays every week. The Daily Play is another popular game which takes place every day of the week, excluding Sunday. EuroMillion is most suitable, for those looking for a big jackpot as it has a rolling jackpot including all of UK.

Toshiba Qosmio X505 Q860
admin | March 7, 2010 | 2:39 am | Uncategorized | No comments

I purchased this laptop as a desktop replacement and I use it for gaming, watching movies, writing software, and basic Microsoft Office and web browsing tasks. Overall I am extremely pleased with it and would highly recommend it to others. Here’s the breakdown:

PROS:

- This is an extremely fast machine. It boots up in under a minute with Windows 7 and I have yet to notice the occasional lag with starting up programs that I experience with most Windows PC’s.

- Newer games like “Dragon Age: Origins” run extremely well on this machine with all of the graphics maxed out

- The screen on this computer is beautiful. The color quality and contrast are extremely good and there is a ton of screen real estate. Some people have complained that it isn’t full 1080p but I find that the 1680×945 resolution makes icons and text the perfect size for this size of screen.

- Multitasking works great with a dual-core processor (four virtual cores with hyperthreading) and 4GB of DDR3 RAM. I routinely have 12 Firefox tabs up while watching videos in iTunes and editing four or five MS Office documents. A lot of computers don’t like this but the Q860 handles it wonderfully.

- The battery life is over three hours, which is pretty good for such a behemoth.

CONS:

- This is an extremely heavy laptop and I wouldn’t recommend it for frequent business travel. That being said, I do use this laptop for grad school and haul it back and forth to class one day a week using a Toshiba 18″ gaming backpack and it isn’t terrible on my back. I would definitely recommend a backpack if you want to carry this thing around as a normal laptop shoulder bag would probably destroy your neck and shoulder.

- Both Toshiba and Amazon claim on their websites that this keyboard is backlit but unfortunately, it isn’t. Amazon customer service handled this issue extremely well after I reported it, so I can’t complain about this too much. All X505-series keyboards are compatible so you can probably pick up a backlit one off of eBay if that’s a big deal to you.

- There is a decent amount of junkware pre-installed on this system, although not nearly as much as on the last Dell computer I bought. It’s kind of annoying that Toshiba does this on a high-performance computer that will probably be purchased by people that don’t want or need it.

OVERALL:

- I did a large amount of research before buying this laptop and as of this moment, there isn’t a better value out there in gaming laptops than this. It lacks some of the higher-end features such as dual graphics cards, a 1080p display, and solid-state drives, but for the money you can’t do better than this. I am now selling both of my desktops and I plan on making this my sole computer.

Best Deposit Incentives – Doyles Room Promo Code
Tamber Namimal | March 6, 2010 | 10:17 am | Uncategorized | No comments

Every Poker Room, online has promotions that are offered, periodically. Some offer 50% bonus, while others offer a little more or a little less. By using the Doyles Room Promo Code, a player can earn up to 110% of his deposit, up to $600! This is impressive and really rewards you for playing at this site.

Now considering that the name Doyle Brunson is to poker what Babe Ruth is to baseball, this should be a great gambling experience. In most regards it is a fine place to play. With the new affiliation of Cake Poker Network, a change from the Prima Poker Network, this is one site that allows most US players. Unfortunately, if you live in Washington, Kentucky or Louisiana, you cannot play here for real money. The current legislation in the US restricts players from the states, from participating on many sites, but Doyle was intent on allowing his county men to play.

This site is a complete online casino. They have numerous progressive Slot machines, Video Poker, Blackjack with Tournaments, Baccarat, Craps, Roulette and even Keno. This part of the site is quite good. The games are creative and the play is fast. The jackpots are significant and you can have a lot of fun here. However, the Poker side of the site is lacking in some areas, while excelling in others. You can re-size the tables, so multiple games are easier. They have a great past hand feature that allows you to see how you played. And with a full complement of games, you will be entertained.

Doyles Room Promo Codes offer one of the biggest bonuses online. Your deposits can be rewarded with up to 110%, up to $600! This is impressive. And, although they are achieved by played hands, the pace of play is quick, so your hands add up pretty quickly. There are two codes that will give you the bonuses and can be found all over the Internet.

You can play for free or play for real money. Doyles Room accepts the normal payment methods or you could even use Western Union. He really wants you to play here! But, be sure to follow the directions to maximize your bonuses. Although they are always tied to how much you play, at this site, your hands mount up pretty quickly, therefore so do your bonuses.

One aspect of this site is the number of Tournaments that a player can actively compete. Along with qualifiers for the Irish Poker Open, players can chase down a $50,000 bounty by knocking out Doyle or any of his top ranked teammates, Aussie Millions, a Vegas Experience, where players can win a trip to Vegas for the weekend, a loose change event, where you can play for folding money, while registering for as low as $0.05! There are also Free Roll Tournaments, sizable guaranteed events and more.

Alright, so you have this entire article. So, it is time to reveal Doyles Room Promo Codes! These 1 Bonus Codes are to be used when you register. FTR110B or CPK110B Using either of these will get you to the 110% bonus.

So, if you do not have $25,000 to register for the World Poker Championship, you still may get an opportunity to play against the man who started this craze, Doyle Brunson. If not, refer some friends, earn another bonus and take their money. Either way, you will enjoy your stay here. The site continues to grow and most days you will see between 5-8000 players. As always, play smart and overstay your welcome. Enjoy this site and do not forget to use the Doyles Room Bonus Code. It may be the best online for sometime.

Are you ready for an exciting place to play your favorite games online? Browse this Doyles Room Review and find out just how much fun you can have, right now! Get information on a Doyles Room Promo Code and start playing today!

PS2 Console – Still Going Strong A Decade After Its Release
Mark Walters | March 6, 2010 | 8:42 am | Uncategorized | No comments

Over the last couple of decades, gaming consoles have become immensely popular, and now people all over the world like to play games in their free time. One of the most famous consoles among the many consoles released in that time is the Sony Playstation 2 (or PS2 for short). Though this console is now 10 years old, it still remains very popular as it, and its games, are so much cheaper than the newer PS3.

The reasons for its lasting success are partly because of its competitive price, partly because of the great games that can be played on it, and partly because of the wide array of game enhancing accessories that can be used with it. Of the accessories available for the PS2, these are the most popular:

Sony PS2 Multitap : Unlike the Xbox or GameCube, the PS2 has just two built in controller ports. However, if you are planning to play against four people than you can buy a mulittap, which allows you to engage in a four player gaming session.

Logitech PS2 Wireless Headset : This allows you to play games without getting tangled up in cables or annoying your family with game sounds. It also lets you communicate with other online players. The Logitech Wireless headset is well built, with excellent sound quality and even the slightest sound could be heard with ease.

PS2 Dual Shock Controller : This controller provides a more realistic gaming experience, with pressure sensitivity on every action button plus an improved mobility of the analog. After using one, you will find it slightly boring to use the standard PS2 controller again.

PS2 DVD Remote Controller Kit : The PS2 has the ability to read both CDs plus DVDs, therefore the PS2 DVD remote controller was brought into existence. This controller allows PS2 owners to watch movies in exactly the same way as they would watch them on TV.

Read How To Be Sure Your DS Downloads Are Safe
Roger Fileding | March 2, 2010 | 8:21 am | Video Games | No comments

Of the many hand held games consoles available today, the DS is one of the most popular. For some people the DS is a must have, and of course so are the best and latest games. So if you are a big fan of the DS and the internet you are sure be a fan of DS downloads.

When you conduct an internet search for DS games, you will see pages of results. Some of these sites listed will offer DS games to download for free, others will require a membership fee or charge per download. Most people new to downloading games will go straight for the free games.

If you download DS games from a free site you run the risk of downloading a virus, or an infected game file. If you do not get a virus, it is possible the download may be corrupt. Even though many DS games are downloaded for free everyday, you still run the risk of getting an infected or corrupt file.

Many free sites offer games that are no longer considered a top title or new release. If you want to download yourself a recently released game, and want it trouble free, you would be well advised to join a DS download site that will charge you for membership, or per download.

You may not like the idea of paying for something you can probably get for free, but downloading from a reputable and safe paid site will give you peace of mind when saving game files to your computer. Because paid sites want to keep their customer base as high as possible, they will run quality sites. They will offer the latest games, and your downloads will always be safe.

So where ever you go for your DS downloads, make sure you know exactly what you are downloading. It is a good idea to stay clear of public sites, where other users upload games for you to download. These sites are notorious for virus infections. Although some free download sites may offer good virus free downloads, a well managed reputable site is always a safe bet.

NDS Rom Downloads – Where To Find Them
Roger Fileding | February 27, 2010 | 6:51 am | Console Games | No comments

If you don’t know about it already, NDS ROMs Domain is just another term for one of the best parts of owning a Nintendo DS. It’s a site on the Internet where you can download thousands – literally thousands! – of free Nintendo DS games called ROMs.

But hang on, you might ask, what are ROMs? And why do I want them? So here’s a little explanation.

ROM, or ROMs as they’re more commonly known, are small files that are copies of data from a read-only memory chip like a Nintendo DS cartridge or the main board from an arcade cabinet like Galaga or Pac-Man.

The great advantage with ROMs is that they’re usually very small. NDS ROMs are usually around 32 to 128 megabytes per game, as opposed to several gigabytes for some PC or console games these days. So instead of just getting one game every now and again, you could literally stock up on hundreds – and people do!

Another great feature of ROMs is that you can store them on your PC and they don’t get old and dusty unlike your old Gameboy cartridges. If your Nintendo DS cartridge gets dunked in a cup of Coke you can’t repair it, but you can download the game again whenever you want – for free!

In order to use ROMs, you’ll either need a NDS emulator for your computer or a special chip like the Revolution 4 for your Nintendo DS. This article assumes you’re already past that step, but if you’re not some quick Googling will give you all the knowledge you need to know to get started.

Now that you’ve got the tools required to get started, where do you get your ROMs from?

One of the best portals on the Internet for Nintendo DS ROMs is ROM Freaks (www.rom-freaks.net). On top of almost 5000 NDS games free to download, the site also has ROMs for the Nintendo 64, Gameboy Color and the Gameboy Advance and even PC games.

Another great site is Romulation (www.romulation.net). Again, like ROM Freaks, Romulation has almost 5000 ROMs for the Nintendo DS alone. They’ve also got ROMs for the PlayStation, GameCube, Dreamcast and other old consoles. If you are looking to get the most from your online poker play, then you should certainly look into what is known as a rakeback.

Most poker rooms online charge what is known as a rake. This is how online poker rooms commonly make their money when they offer tables for players to use. Many tables also offer what is known as a rake payout to their players. This benefit is similar to comps in a regular casino. Players who play large sums of money can greatly benefit from tables that give back large sums through rake paybacks.

When playing in online poker rooms, you should look into the rooms that give you the largest benefits from their bonus payouts. When you are receiving large payouts from a casino, you will have an advantage when competing with players online who are not receiving the same returns from their casino benefits.

Not all rooms give the same benefits though. Some rooms give more money in paybacks than others. This makes it important to shop around for the room that gives you the best bonuses. If you want to find the room that gives you the best bonus returns, then you should certainly search online for websites that compare the major poker room’s rake payout percentages. To find the room that pays out the most money from their pot fees, you should find the company that gives the largest pot percentages in payouts.

Then, when you go to play, you will know you are getting more money back from the rake then you could get playing in any other room around.

If you do not want to pay any money out in fees, then you should look into rooms that do not charge fees on every pot played. These tables have completely removed their fees, because they have found they are able to generate extra income by encouraging poker players to take advantage of the other games they offer. Playing at tables that do not charge a fee on pots can save you a large amount of money in the long run.

Players who participate at tables that charge fees are not only competing with other players at the table, but they are competing with the fee as well. This is an additional challenge to anyone’s chances of winning. If you find it difficult to make money when playing poker in rooms that charge a price to play, then you should look into tables that do not charge any type of fees for using their tables.

If you play poker in online tournaments, then you pay out a rake through your entrance fee. Standard rooms charge their fee every hand. When playing games like Texas hold’em, the rooms only charge players when there is a flop though. There are other tables that charge their players based on the elapsed time occurring during play. These charges will generally be taken every half hour.

Some poker rooms only charge a monthly fee for letting players participate at their tables. These rooms generally do not charge players per hand, because they earn their money from the fees charged each month instead.

To make the most money from your online poker play, you should certainly look into the casinos that offer the lowest fees or the largest rakebacks in the industry.
